The annual Caring Hands Classic golf tournament will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Played each year at the Atlanta Athletic Club, home club of the legendary Bobby Jones, the Classic provides corporate and business leaders the opportunity to come together for a day of fresh air, exercise, and camaraderie while playing a magnificent course and providing significant financial support for the Caring Hands Fund, which assists residents of Presbyterian Homes communities who may be in need.

“You are the hands of Christ, caring for the people of God.” Those were the words spoken in 1949 by our founder, Rev. Frank McElroy, Sr. to the staff at the first Presbyterian Home in Quitman. The Caring Hands Fund takes its name from that powerful charge; your generous support of the Classic ensures that our residents can live without concern about their financial need. We have never asked a resident to leave because their financial resources have been exhausted and, God willing, we never will. For those in our income-based senior housing communities, there may be challenges with food insecurity, prescriptions and medical devices, or transportation. Because we believe that the spiritual care of our residents is equally important, the Fund underwrites the chaplaincy program at our income-based campuses (Philips Tower, Calvin Court, and Swainsboro).
